Charmcaster padded out of the warriors den and gave a big yawn. She looked around the camp seeing it was quiet out. She then arched her back and gave a shake. A cold breeze blew by, see that it snowed last night. She looked at the sky seeing clouds and the sun at times. She then trailed through the pile of snow to the freshkill pile and made a face. Only a feild mouse..and sparrow. Pitty... she thought. She rolled her eyes and looked at the camp one more time then at the pile again. "We cant be that lame at hunting!" she mewed still looking at the pile. She then thought about going hunting when she saw her leader anywhere in this camp. She sat down and waited.

Raggedstar stretched in her nest of moss and heather. Outside her den, she heard her deputy mew, 'We can't be that lame at hunting!' That puzzled the old leader. Why is she fussing about hunting? she wondered then stood and padded out of her den.
Once she had exited the den, she looked around the camp, trying to find her deputy. Her gaze swept past the fresh-kill pile and stopped on the cat next to it. There she is, she thought then set her pawsteps towards Charmcaster. "Hello, Charmcaster," she mewed in her melodic voice. "Why were you fussing about our hunting skills just a moment ago?" She sat down in front of the she-cat and kept her gaze on her deputy. [/size] |

Charmcaster was then surprised by her leader and spun around and then realxed. She then looked at the freshkill pile and mewed, "Its not that..I'm fussing about our hunting skills Raggedstar..its I just think we can do better at our hunting skills.." She then looked at her leader and went on, "Just..two things of prey..doesnt fill a clan but thats just me.."

Raggedstar smiled at Charmcaster's words. "Quite right," she purred. "We should send out a hunting party. Would you like to join me? If so, fetch an apprentice to bring along." With that, she stood and padded towards the camp entrance so she wait for Charmcaster and the apprentice to join.
As she waited, she twisted her neck around and began to lick her bedraggled fur. Messy fur was her signature look, but she did sometimes find the need to give it a good washing. [/size] |

Charmcaster got up and mewed, "Why not just have you and I go? Some apprentices are already out and we can tell them when they are on their way back to hunt."

(I knows. x.x But we ought to pretend like we've got some so we seem like an actual Clan.)
Raggedstar looked up as Charmcaster spoke and smiled. "Wonderful idea, Charmcaster!" she mewed cheerfully. Her voice now sounded like a bird's chirp, a bit different from earlier. "So, where to first?" she asked as she leaped to her paws like an eager apprentice going out on it's first hunting lesson. However, unlike an apprentice, she led the way out of camp. [/size] |

Charmcaster gace a sigh of relief as she saw her leader padd out of camp. That was a close one! she thought. She then looked at her leader and popped up and raced after her.

Gorsepaw yawned lazily as she blinked sleep out of her eyes. Light was shining through the den and Gorsepaw gasped. I slept too long! Ohh Raggedstar will be so mad with me! She hurried out of the den and then breathed in with relief as she saw Raggedstar and Charmcaster leaving. She was going to wake Jaywing, but she decided better of it. She padded out of the den and went towards the ThunderClan border. Gorsepaw could always just watch them. She quickly picked up the scent of rabbit and prowled through the heather. She was tempted to lay down and roll around. The sweet scent tickled her nose. She stifled a sneeze and then saw the brown fur. She darted out and leaped onto it. She quickly bit down on it's neck and then picked it up. Gorsepaw half-heartedly wished her mentor would have seen her catch. She scraped dirt over it, she would get it later. Gorsepaw headed towards the ThunderClan border. Hey nobody could say she didn't hunt for her Clan, she had already caught a rabbit. She finally caught the scent of ThunderClan, fresh too. Gorsepaw hurried towards the border, hoping to catch one of the ThunderClan cats. She caught sight of some dark tabby fur and she smiled.

Raggedstar stopped when a scent was carried into her senses by a light breeze. "Gorsepaw?" she murmured to herself, baffled. She then turned back to Charmcaster. "Was Gorsepaw sent on a hunting expedition, Charmcaster?" she asked, wonderment in her voice. She shook her dirty fur and sat down as she waited for an answer. Wasn't Gorsepaw in the apprentices' den when we left camp? she thought to herself. Or was I imagining things again? [/size] |

Charmcaster saw the apprentice and was about to open her mouth when her leader beat her to it. She then looked at grosepaw and mewed, "No, I didnt send anyone out.."

Gorsepaw was about to call out to the apprentice when she noticed movement. "Ragedstar, Charmcaster. Wh-What are you doing here?" she stammered. She flicked her tail at the buried rabbit "I caught a rabbit. I know you didn't send me out. But, I felt like hunting for the Clan. Am I in trouble, or something," she asked, puzzled.

Charmcaster looked at the rabbit and then looked over at her leader. "I dont see why not. The more food the better for the clan!" She then looked at Grosepaw and mewed, "Just please ask if you want to go out. We cant risk losing any cats, what if a big bid saw you and we never knew you were out of camp...food is very important to every animal now that its harder to find. Other animals will eat anything that moves..like badgers or foxes or even wild dogs.."

Raggedstar snorted at Gorsepaw's excuse. "Maybe so, but I still think you should get a punishment," she meowed, her voice set like stone. "I say you should have to hunt for the Clan sunrise to sunset for two days. And you must have a warrior, myself, or Charmcaster with you." She locked her gaze with the apprentice's then looked over at Charmcaster. "Do you agree, Charmcaster?" she asked, her eyes on the deputy's face. [/size] |

Charmcaster was silent for a bit then looked at Grosepaw and then at her leader again and mewed, "Of course..Raggedstar. What you say goes. I'll stay out with her until sunset today. Make sure she's doing well."

"WHAT!" Gorsepaw burst out, "Two whole days!" Gorsepaw stared angrily at her leader then back at her deputy. "I'm not a kit anymore, I can fend for myself. I wish people would stop treating me like a kit, just because im undersized than most apprentices" she snapped at them. She whisked around and stalked angrily off. She wasn't going to hunt for two days. "Don't bother following me" she growled at Charmcaster.
